Interested in engaging with your community and working with a national nonprofit art organization? The Center for Craft needs volunteers to help with its upcoming Craft City Fest on April 25.  This free, public event will activate the first-floor galleries and basement Ideation Lab with educational programs, performances, hands-on activities, and more. Volunteering with the Center for Craft provides an opportunity to experience first-hand the workings of a nonprofit art organization. Our volunteers provide essential support through hands-on service and leadership roles. Volunteer roles may include:

  • Event set-up and takedown
  • Check in and gallery monitoring
  • Visitor engagement
  • Retail assistance
  • Facilitation of hands-on activities

Volunteers should be prompt, reliable, and eager to learn. Initiative and independence are essential; a thoughtful problem solver is ideal. All volunteers will attend an orientation before the event and be provided the specific training needed to complete their assigned task.

We value the insights and efforts of all volunteers and rely on the vitality and fresh perspectives they infuse into the organization.

To be considered for a volunteer position for the Craft City Fest event on April 25, apply by March 31. Applications received after that date may be considered for future programming.

When: Saturday, April 25th from 11:30am -7:30 pm (an orientation with training, and lunch break to precede the event)

Where: Center for Craft, 67 Broadway Street, Asheville, NC 28801

To apply for a volunteer position, please fill out this application form.
