Craft Futures Fund

2020

The Afghan Women’s Craft Circle formed to create a safe community space for Afghan refugees living in Oakland, bonding through shared backgrounds and skills in craft. Due to COVID-19, the meetings have moved online, but the women are determined to have an impact in the face of this pandemic. The circle has made and distributed 275+ masks to refugees, immigrants and communities in need, including the black community in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
