The Virginia A. Groot Material Exploration Residency at the Center for Craft is an eight-week residency in Asheville, North Carolina, that provides a cohort of four craft-based artists with honoraria of $10,000 each, plus time to develop their work, explore new materials, and engage in shared learning experiences. Two residents will be from Western North Carolina and two residents will be previous Virginia A. Groot Awardees or Honorable Mention recipients.
