Craft City: Celebrating Craft in Asheville
From the mugs we make out of local clay to the beer we brew with seasonal produce, craft is everywhere. We value the local, entrepreneurial, small-batch, high quality, and handmade. If you are curious about craft, join us as we explore what makes Asheville a Craft City.
Throughout this two-mile walking tour, Craft City guides will offer ways to understand Asheville's urban landscape and restaurant scene through the craft philosophy—thoughtful making with a reverence for process and material.
Taste, touch, and sip your way among carefully chosen stops, all while learning about the history of craft in the region, and encountering the creative people, objects, and libations that make Asheville a Craft City. If you love all things high-quality, small-batch, and handcrafted—join us!
The Center for Craft is experiencing an exciting year of growth, adding an additional 7,000 sq. ft. of program space within our historic 1912 building in downtown Asheville. During this period of transformation, the Center's building will be closed-- reopening Fall 2019. We are grateful to our tour partner, Blue Spiral 1, who will host our 2019 Craft City Food and Art Tours, located at 38 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC.
Please note, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the tour. FAQ's, tour policies, and additional Craft City information available here.
