We’ll gather around the fire for vegetarian curry, roast chicken, and a screening of Tim’s Vermeer, a film about art, invention, and the sometimes unexpected ways technology shapes what we make.
Afterward, we’ll continue the conversation around the fire, reflecting on the tools and technologies that have found their way into our own practices. Some ancient, some new, all of them changing, in one way or another, how we see and what we are able to do.
An evening for good food, a fascinating film, and the pleasure of thinking together. We hope you’ll join us!
Craft Club is a participant-led gathering for regional craft enthusiasts, makers, scholars, collectors, and curators interested in exploring craft topics and connecting with others. Each month, we will gather to discuss a book, object, history, or maker. Each meeting will be hosted by a local maker or scholar with support from the Center for Craft. Locations of the meetings will vary depending on the monthly topic and will be shared with the club at least one week prior to the meeting. Gatherings may take place at the Center for Craft or another site chosen by the host, such as a studio, gallery, or other location where craft is being made or shared. Activities may include book discussions, artist studio tours, craft gallery tours, presentations, and workshops. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month from 6 pm–8 pm, starting on November 4, 2026.
