Amy Pabst is a fiber artist who creates quilts to hang on the wall, with an emphasis on form rather than function. She has exhibited her work internationally, most recently at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, England. Her first book, The 100,000 Pieces Project, was published in 2020 by Quiltmania Editions. Her work explores feminist themes, with a focus on women’s work in the context of fiber arts and textiles. Amy was honored as the 2024 West Virginia Folk Artist of the Year from the Governor’s Awards for the Arts. In 2025, she won Best Use of Color at the American Quilter’s Society QuiltWeek in Daytona Beach, Florida. She grew up in rural West Virginia, where the strong regional heritage of quiltmaking continues to inform her processes. Amy is a graduate of Marshall University with a BFA in visual art/fibers and minors in English and women’s studies.
