Windgate-Lamar Fellowship
2026
Rebecca Zhang is a multidisciplinary maker from New York City working in paper and clay, with a particular interest in book arts and teaware. They received their BFA from Alfred University, studying ceramics and graphic design. In New York, Rebecca is an instructor at Choplet Ceramics Studio and has led workshops at SAGE, an LGBTQ+ senior center. They have exhibited work and completed a residency in Jingdezhen, China. Rebecca will join Anderson Ranch Arts Center as a ceramics intern in summer 2026.
Rooted in a personal search for assurance, harmony, and balance, their practice draws inspiration from Taoist principles that value simplicity, flow, and attentiveness. They are interested in translating these intangible ideas into material form, using craft as a means to cultivate a meditative, focused state of engagement for both them and the viewer.
