O'Neil set out to engage in educational pursuits. Travel and classes, would expand their skill level, technique, and creative thought process to better prepare experiments with new ways of practicing their craft. This includes classes and studio visits in Lismore and Cork, Ireland, two weeks in Kilkenny City, and participation in the International Ceramics Festival in Wales.
