While interning at the Art Institute of Chicago, Kate Swisher focused on researching and cataloging the American Art department’s permanent collection of studio and contemporary craft in all media (wood, glass, ceramics, and silver) and contributed research to “Chicago Design” exhibition project that uncovered craftspeople working in the burgeoning studio movement in and around Chicago during the mid-twentieth century.
