While interning at the Tennessee State Museum, Sharon Fairbanks assisted museum personnel in cataloging, photographing, and storing over 100 quilts dating from the mid-19th century to the present, identified patterns, textile types, and construction techniques in the quilts during cataloging. Furthermore, Sharon observed and learned the national best practices in textile handling and storage.
