Artist statement: Danielle Burke is interested in the storytelling potential of vernacular textiles. Through her folklore studies and studio practice, Burke aims to "listen to the constant sermon of things" (Diaz, In the Distance) by examining materiality, process, craft pedagogy, and the relationship between text and textile.
