Grant Recipient
Windgate-Lamar Fellowship
2018
Meeker planned to continue their education while developing their emerging studio practice. They would travel domestically and internationally to visit and conduct research at different studios, factories, museums, and libraries. Meeker would also enroll in apprenticeships and assist in the production of a mentor’s work.
The Windgate Fellowship will allow me to travel domestically and internationally to visit and research different studios, factories, museums, and libraries. I plan to approach an apprenticeship as an educational opportunity and as a time for growth under the guidance of a professional, gaining skills and learning studio management. Along with this practical knowledge, I will enroll in a class at a craft school to continue my creative studio practice. In addition, I will build my studio by purchasing tools, materials, and other equipment.
