Melanie Risch is an artist working with clay and soil. Based in Burnsville, NC, she makes pots inspired by ancient and locally foraged materials, and creates gardens that balance beauty, food production, and support for wildlife. Both of these practices center around working with and transforming the clay of these mountains to create beauty and meaning.
