Annika Pettersson is a jewelry artist whose work explores traditional forms through a contemporary reinterpretation of classical shapes. Rooted in deep material knowledge, Pettersson’s practice distorts and develops familiar motifs, embodying a sublime touch and the transcendent nature of jewelry.
Earning an MFA with distinction from Konstfack University in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2009, Pettersson has exhibited internationally in numerous group shows, completed a residency at Penland School of Craft, and conducted research at the Swedish National Museum. She currently works and lives in Asheville, NC.
